Henrico Schools to host budget input sessions

Table of Contents

Henrico Schools will hold seven input sessions to get community views on the school division’s budget for the 2019-20 school year.

Two public hearings will be held before the School Board at New Bridge Learning Center auditorium, while the remaining five sessions are stakeholders’ meetings that will be held at public libraries in each of Henrico County’s five magisterial districts.

At the stakeholders’ meetings, a short presentation by HCPS budget staff members will be followed by opportunities to comment and ask questions. The two public hearings are simply opportunities for public comment and will include no presentations or discussion. The school division will develop a budget proposal using feedback from stakeholders and the superintendent’s budget is scheduled to be released in January.

The input opportunities will be:

• Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. (Varina Area Library, 1875 New Market Road, Henrico, Va.)
• Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. (Tuckahoe Area Public Library, 1901 Starling Drive, Henrico, Va.)
• Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. (Twin Hickory Area Library, 5001 Twin Hickory Road, Glen Allen, Va.)
