Henrico Schools to host 2-day ‘Back-to-School Kickoff’ Aug. 11-12

Henrico Schools will host a two-day division wide “Back-to-School Kickoff” event at Fairfield Middle School Aug. 11-12.
On Friday, the event will feature an evening pep-rally style family festival from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring kids’ activities, a DJ, food trucks and giveaways. Families can register their child for school, talk with representatives from a host of HCPS departments and get information about resources available throughout the school division and in the community. There also will be free throw and three-point shooting contests on the basketball courts. Attendees also can visit the HCPS Human Resources tent and learn more about available job opportunities with the school system.
On Saturday, the event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include dozens of 3-on-3 basketball teams of all ages competing in a Hoop It Up tournament. Numerous vendors also will be in attendance to share information about their organizations and businesses.
