The committee will be composed of 15-20 volunteers, and they’ll be tasked with reviewing the division’s current "Destination 2025" strategic plan, collecting data, and identifying goals for strengthening education in Henrico. Members will be required to attend three in-person planning sessions, which will take place during the 2024-2025 school year.

The School Health Advisory Board also needs volunteers to help develop school health policies. Three-year terms are available, and board members are expected to meet at least four times during the coming school year.

“Involvement of our Henrico community is vital to our decision-making processes, and it lays the foundation for the innovations and progress that we experience across all of our schools,” said Amy Cashwell, HCPS superintendent. “We encourage anyone who feels passionately about the future and well-being of our students to apply and engage positively with these committees, whether they are a teacher, family member, community member, business partner or even a current student.”

The application process for the steering is now open, and applications may be completed online. Those interested in serving on the health advisory board should complete an interest form online.
