Henrico Schools officials have opened the window for responses to their 2025 survey, which seeks input from parents, guardians, staff members and students.

Parents and guardians should receive an email Feb. 3 with a link to this year’s edition of the survey, which officials said should take about 15-20 minutes and can be completed through Feb. 28. HCPS staff members and students in grades 3-12 will receive instructions about how to access their surveys.

School system officials will use the survey results as they consider new programs, examine ways to strengthen existing learning opportunities and allocate the funding and personnel needed to support them. The results also will help the division measure its progress in a range of areas related to the four cornerstones outlined in HCPS’ current strategic plan, “Destination 2025: The Plan for HCPS.” The cornerstones of that plan are safety and wellness; academic growth; equity and opportunity; and relationships.

Respondents also will have a chance to score some incentives for participating.

The school in each Henrico County magisterial district with the highest family survey response rate will win professional development funds for its teachers, courtesy of the Henrico Education Foundation. At least one family from each of the five magisterial districts will be randomly selected for a prize bag from HCPS’ Department of Family and Community Engagement.

HCPS is conducting the survey with help from the Institute for Collaborative Research and Evaluation at VCU’s School of Education. Answers are anonymous and confidential, and the consortium will only report information to HCPS in summary form.

In addition to the email, a parent and guardian survey link will be available on the HCPS website through Feb. 28 at https://www.henricoschools.us/page/annual-schools-survey. Those needing a paper copy of the parent and guardian survey should contact their child’s school. The survey is available in English, Spanish, Pashto, Portuguese, Arabic and Dari.
