Henrico Schools’ ‘Life-Ready Expo’ series continues Feb. 9 with health services focus

Local students in grades 7-12 and their families will get a chance to explore careers in health and veterinary sciences Feb. 9 at “Life-Ready Expo: Health Services,” Henrico County Public Schools’ virtual career event. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is open to all area students.

The event is part of HCPS’ Life-Ready Expo series, designed to expose students to possible career paths. Participants can visit virtual “rooms” to talk with employers from across the region representing a variety of career opportunities, learn about the educational qualifications employers want, and what kind of compensation to expect. Participants also will be able to ask questions.

At the event, students, parents and guardians will have a chance to meet with a variety of medical professionals, including:
• nurses and health aides;
• emergency medical technicians and paramedics;
• therapeutic services professionals;
• pharmacy technicians;
• veterinary sciences professionals.

The virtual event will be conducted using Microsoft Teams. Attendees can take part using a browser without creating a Teams account.
