Henrico Schools' 2025-26 kindergarten registration opens March 24

Registration for kindergarten at Henrico County Public Schools will open online March 24 for children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30.

Families also will have the opportunity to go through the entire process in person during the 2025-26 Kindergarten Registration Kickoff at all 46 HCPS elementary schools Thursday, April 10.

Parents or legal guardians either may begin the process online — submitting required documents such as the enrollment form and health information form — or get everything done on site with the help of HCPS staff members at the April 10 events.

Registrars and other staff at the county's 46 public elementary schools will be able to guide families through each step of registration between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and also from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., April 10.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children by July 1 for the 2025-26 school year.Documents required for registration include, but are not limited to:

• Original/state-issued birth certificate
• Proof of residency
• Immunization records
• Completed physical (dated no earlier than 12 months before the date your child will begin school)
• Picture ID or driver’s license for parents/legal guardians that includes current Henrico address

Translation services will be available at the 2025-26 Kindergarten Registration Kickoff for multilingual families, and children are welcome to attend.
