Henrico, Richmond area real estate market seeing rise in sale prices

Median sale prices of homes rose throughout the Richmond real estate market in September, and the region’s market remains healthy despite low inventory, according to Long & Foster Market Minute reports.

In Henrico County, the number of units sold in September (393) declined two percent from September 2016, but the median sale price rose five percent to $230,000. Goochland County recorded the highest median sale prices in the region at $369,500; Hanover County led in the rate of increase in prices from Sept. 2016 with nine percent.

Days on the market averaged 33 in Henrico, compared to a low of 25 in Richmond City and a high of 64 in Goochland. Active inventory declined throughout greater Richmond from September 2016. In Richmond City, inventory fell by 30 percent, followed by Henrico County where it decreased by 26 percent.
