Henrico residents encouraged to make Valentine's Day cards for senior citizens

As part of the agency's fourth-annual Valentine's Day "Spread the Love" event, officials want to show the county's appreciation for the senior community and make sure its members have a special day.

Henrico citizens are invited to create Valentine's Day cards for a nursing home or assisted living resident by writing a generic and uplifting message, then sending the completed card(s) to: Henrico EngAGE, Attn: Ashlee Giles, PO Box 90775, Henrico, VA 23273.

There also will be three drop-off locations to collect cards (by Feb. 2), available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:

• the Western Government Center Lobby (4301 East Parham Road);

• the Public Safety Building Lobby (7721 East Parham Road);

• the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center (1440 North Laburnum Avenue).
