Henrico reports just 31 new COVID-19 cases March 10

A total of just 31 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Henrico County on Wednesday, according to data from the Virginia Department of Health, as cases continue to decline after the post-holiday surge in January. The seven-day moving average of new daily cases fell to 43.

The county reported three new hospitalizations related to the virus, and three new virus-related deaths, according to the VDH.

The average positivity rate among testing encounters in Henrico County continues to decrease, according to VDH data. The average positivity rate among PCR tests fell to 5.5 percent, and among rapid antigen tests, it fell to 6.1 percent as of March 6. Henrico County is now fourth in total COVID-19 vaccines administered, according to VDH data, ranking behind Fairfax County, Loudoun County and Virginia Beach. This week, the VDH reported that 18 percent of Virginia's population has received at least one dose of the vaccine so far.

Henrico County remains at 176 reported outbreaks, according to VDH data. The number of outbreak associated cases and cases among healthcare workers has slowed almost to a halt. The county has reported 3,448 outbreak-related cases, and 1,119 cases in healthcare workers.
