Henrico reports first confirmed case of rabies this year

Both dogs may have come in contact with the raccoon, police said, but no other animals or humans were exposed.

The Henrico Police Animal Protection Unit is reminding residents to check rabies vaccinations for their pets. The county's next rabies clinic is scheduled May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Henrico County Western Government Center. Vaccines are $15 (cash only).
