Henrico reports 158 new COVID cases, 1 new death

Another 158 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Henrico County Dec. 30, along with the virus-related death of someone older than 80 and two new hospitalizations, according to the Virginia Department of Health.

Henrico is now averaging 129 new cases per day during the past week, down from 131 Tuesday.

The county’s 7-day positivity percentage among PCR tests is down from 8.8% Dec. 25 to 8.5% as of Dec. 26, the most recent date for which the information is available. Its rapid test percentage increased from 9.8% to 10.2% as of Dec. 26.

A total of 2,114 Henrico residents have received the first phase of the COVID vaccine, an increase of 630 in the past two days.
