Henrico Police seek man who robbed store, assaulted employees

Henrico Police are seeking a suspect who robbed a convenience store in the county’s northern end.

It happened Dec. 23 shortly before 2 a.m in the 5600 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. The suspect (pictured) followed an employee around the counter and demanded money from the register. The subject then hit the employee on the head several times with a metal object.

The employee's coworker came from the office area and began fighting with the subject, who also struck the second employee on the head several times with a metal object.

The suspect the left the store on foot, headed south on Chamberlayne Road. Both employees received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at an area hospital.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 foot 9 to 5 foot 11, with an average build and medium complexion.
