Henrico County Police are continuing to investigate a shooting that killed a 17-year-old boy and damaged a home in Eastern Henrico early Monday morning.
Police on Tuesday clarified that they had received a call about 3:25 a.m. for a reported shooting in the 3300 block of Reynolds Road and sent officers to the area to speak with a homeowner who showed them damage to their property. Police searched the area, collected evidence and did not find any injured people.
At 6:07 a.m., police received another call reporting that someone had been shot in the same block. This time, when officers arrived at the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy in the fenced-in backyard of a home with obvious signs of trauma. He was declared dead at the scene.
