Henrico Police charge 23-year-old man in March 28 shooting

Henrico Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of The Shops at White Oak Village in Eastern Henrico March 28.

Dae’Shawn Tramaine Singleton, of Henrico, is being held without bond at the Henrico County Jail on nine charges related to the shooting, which didn’t injure anyone directly but led to the injury of a pedestrian, who was struck in the parking lot by a car fleeing the scene.

Singleton faces:

• three charges of maliciously shooting from a car;
• two charges of malicious shooting;
• one charge of abuse/neglect of a child: reckless disregard for life;
• one charge of shooting a firearm from a vehicle;
• one charge of reckless handling of a firearm;
• one charge of shooting a firearm in a public place without causing injury;

The shooting occurred just before 11:50 a.m that day after a group of people gathered around two vehicles got into an argument. Police originally believed that multiple people then began firing at each other, though no one was struck by the gunfire.

Friday, a police spokesman told the Citizen that Singleton is now considered the only shooter in the incident.
