Henrico Police arrest, charge man with carjacking

A 29-year-old man is under arrest, charged with carjacking following an incident near St. Mary’s Hospital Dec. 15.
Twenty-nine-year-old Resheed Richie Williams also faces charges of the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The incident occurred shortly before 1:20 p.m. in the 5800 block of Bremo Road, where a man was standing at his vehicle when he was approached by a male who engaged him in conversation, according to Henrico Police. The latter then produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s Honda truck, took it and fled.
The victim got away safely without injury and called 911, and a dispatcher was able to route officers to the area quickly. The suspect hadn’t made it off Bremo Road before he was stopped by officers, who then took him into custody.
Williams is being held by the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office without bond.
