Henrico Police have arrested and charged a 24-year-old Amelia man with sexual battery in connection with two incidents that occurred in October.

Zachary Ryan Martin is being held without bond at the Henrico County jail. He was identified as a suspect in the cases, which occurred Oct. 27 at two local grocery stores, through a collaborative effort between Henrico and Chesterfield Police.

Police have not revealed what actions Martin is alleged to have committed, only describing him as having acted suspiciously with two women in two separate grocery stores that night.

The first incident took place at about 5:40 p.m. in the 9000 block of West Broad Street. A female victim reported a male had been staring at her, acting suspiciously as he walked away. Video footage showed the man following the woman into an aisle, then immediately exiting the store after what police termed a brief encounter.

Nearly 45 minutes later around 6:30 p.m., a similar incident was reported in the 11000 block of Patterson Avenue.

In both cases, the man left in a black Chevrolet Impala with dark tinted windows.
