Henrico Police officials have arrested and charged a Henrico man in connection to an April 13 assault in the county that led to a police pursuit that ended in Richmond.
Tyler Renard Robinson-Thomas, 30, faces charges of malicious wounding, felony stabbing, felony eluding police, and felony child endangerment in connection with the incident.
At about 2:25 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the intersection of Reynolds Road and Howard Street, near Ratcliffe Elementary School, following reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult female victim with an injury to her neck. Officers immediately began to render aid and with the assistance of Henrico Fire, transported her to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, where she remains hospitalized.
Officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle in the 4700 block of Laburnum Avenue and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver instead continued, leading police on a chase that continued toward Richmond.
During the pursuit an adult female exited the vehicle while the suspect car was in motion. Officers located that woman, who was taken to a local hospital by Richmond Ambulance Authority with non-life-threatening injuries.
The pursuit continued into the City of Richmond where the driver of the suspect vehicle crashed at the intersection of 7th Street and Route 360. A brief foot pursuit ensued before officers were able to detain Robinson-Thomas. Officers then checked the suspect’s vehicle and located a toddler in the back seat. The child was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
