Henrico Police arrest 3 in connection with West End shooting

Henrico Police have named the three people they arrested in connection with the shootout that took place in a West End apartment complex June 23.

Jahiem Cooper-Mattison (attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and outstanding capias from Virginia Beach Police); Jordan Mumford (attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm); and Shaquan Carter (attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony) all are now in custody.

At about 2 p.m. June 23, police were in the 9300 block of Silver Stream Lane for an unrelated investigation when they observed two people exchanging gunfire. An officer engaged them and fired.

An investigation concluded that the incident was an attempted robbery.

Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

One adult male was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
