Henrico County is asking for the public’s input on potential improvements to a 1.5-mile stretch of Azalea Avenue. The county’s Department of Public Works is conducting the Azalea Avenue Road Diet Study to analyze potential pedestrian and bicycle accommodations along Azalea Avenue between Chamberlayne Avenue and Richmond Henrico Turnpike.

The study, which is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025, aims to enhance safety and traffic conditions for all road users. The survey is open until Jan. 17 and can be accessed online.

The survey asks residents about their travel habits on Azalea Avenue, including frequency of travel, purpose of trips, and preferred mode of transportation. It also seeks feedback on existing safety concerns and potential improvements for the corridor.
