Henrico County now has more confirmed cases of COVID-19 than all other Virginia localities except for one, according to Virginia Department of Health data released this morning.

The county has 342 confirmed cases, placing it behind only Fairfax County in Northern Virginia, which has 777. Henrico’s case count grew by 23 from yesterday’s report.

Statewide, more than 4,500 people now are known to have the virus – that’s up from about 4,000 yesterday. In total, 35,459 patients have been tested statewide and about 13 percent of them have tested positive.

Of note, the percentage of people statewide testing positive day by day has increased this week since Monday; about 19 percent of those whose results were reported today tested positive.
