Henrico now averaging 140 new COVID cases per day

For the second straight day Thursday, the Virginia Department of health reported more than 150 new cases of COVID-19 in Henrico. The county hadn’t reported a single such day before Dec. 6 and now has had three in that time.

Henrico’s skyrocketing case counts have increased the average number of new daily cases during the past seven days to 140 – more than twice the average of 68 per day seven days ago.

The VDH also reported five new COVID-related hospitalizations in Henrico Thursday.

The county’s 7-day PCR positivity percentage increased slightly, from 8.1% Dec. 5 to 8.2% Dec. 6.
