Henrico County Master Gardeners will hold their annual Spring Plant Sale and Pollinator Festival Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Deep Run Recreation Center at Deep Run Park, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway.

Master Gardeners will be selling plants from their own gardens at low prices, and the event also will include pre-made floral arrangements available for purchase, a “Garden Treasures” table selling gently used gardening items, educational displays, musical entertainment and food trucks.

Last year, nearly 1,000 people attended the event, at which more than 1,500 potted plants, including 160 varieties of perennials, shrubs, trees, herbs and some houseplants were offered for sale. The Master Gardeners are hoping to exceed that number of attendees this year, according to Nadine Oswald, plant sale co-chairperson.

In addition to the sales, Junior Master Gardeners also will offer a number of hands-on children’s activities, story time and a photo booth where families can take pictures of their children posing as butterflies.

Henrico County Master Gardeners will be staffing a plant clinic to answer gardening questions., and a number of organizations will host educational booths, as well.

William (Tripp) and Jenny Johnson (members of the musical group The Cary Street Ramblers) will provide entertainment with light bluegrass guitar melodies on their string instruments.

Food trucks also will be on site offering items for purchase.

Admission to the event is free. For details, visit www.henricomg.org.
