Three adults were displaced by a fire in their home this morning in northern Henrico, but no one was injured. Firefighters also rescued a dog from the fire, which broke out just after 2:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Cleary Road, near I-64 and Mechanicsville Turnpike.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke pouring from the home and flames shooting from the back of the house. They entered the home to extinguish the flames and search for occupants. One occupant was awake at about the time the fire started, smelled smoke and alerted the other occupants, who were all able to escape the fire without harm.
The Henrico Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze, and the Red Cross is assisting the three displaced adults.
