Henrico Health Department urges self-quarantine after concert at Glen Allen restaurant

Table of Contents

The Henrico County Health Department is urging anyone who attended an Oct. 9 live music event at JJ’s Grille in Glen Allen to self-quarantine through Oct. 24 and consider being tested for COVID-19, because they may have been exposed to the virus that night.

A cluster of virus infections that officials believe is associated with the event has occurred. Officials are working with the restaurant to determine if any possible exposures beyond that date may have taken place.

While there have been no reported cases of exposure associated with live music or group events held on dates before Oct. 9, the health department is still evaluating the potential for further exposures and is recommending that anyone who has visited the restaurants since Oct. 9 monitor for symptoms and consider being tested for COVID-19.

Those who don’t have a medical provider or insurance may receive free testing through the health district at an upcoming community testing event (visit http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/richmond-city/ for a full listing, or call (804) 205-3501).

Other testing sites can be found at http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/richmond-city/richmond-and-henrico-area-covid-19-testing-sites/.

Anyone in self-quarantine should stay home, avoid having guests visit them, not share items such as towels and plates, stay at least 6 feet away from others, and wear a mask when around people who have not had the same exposure.  For details, visit http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/local-exposure/.
