Henrico fire engine overturns, 4 firefighters taken to hospital

Four firefighters from Lakeside’s Fire House No. 5 were taken to a local hospital Sunday morning with non-life-threatening injuries after their fire engine overturned on Woodman Road near Spider Drive while they were responding to a call. The firefighters exited the vehicle on their own. The truck slipped on snowy roads, spun off the road and then overturned, according to fire officials.
The engine was on its way to a medical emergency, which was then handled by another unit after the accident. There was no delay in service, according to officials.
