Henrico Fire earns international accreditation for fifth time

The Henrico County Division of Fire is one of the three longest continually accredited fire service organizations in the world, following its reaccreditation by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.
It is Henrico Fire's fifth accreditation by the agency, which is one of 250 in the work to achieve Internationally Accredited Agency status with the CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc. Henrico Fire has been continuously accredited since 1998.
The agency’s achievement of Accredited Agency status “demonstrates the commitment of the agency to provide the highest quality of service to our community.” Said Henrico Fire Chief Tony McDowell. "We have also been able to use the Commission on Fire Accreditation International’s process as a proactive mechanism to plan for the future of this agency and locate areas where we can improve on the quality of the services we provide.”
