Henrico Education Foundation to celebrate education heroes at 'Excellence in Education Dinner'

The Henrico Education Foundation will hold its Third Annual Excellence in Education Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. The black-tie optional dinner, hosted by Andrew Freiden of NBC-12, is a designed as a high-impact fundraising gala that pays tribute to the vast network of generous philanthropists, business leaders, volunteer leaders, elected officials and media representatives who are invested in the lives of Henrico County school children.

The event honors and celebrates "education heroes" who have made HEF’s growth and impact possible through their donations and partnerships. The 2021 event, which honored the Facebook/Meta Henrico Data Center, included 55 business sponsors and raised more than $300,000 in direct support of public schools in Henrico County.

HEF's mission is to strengthen public education by advancing innovative programs and initiatives to help improve student achievement. Founded in 1993, HEF serves as a catalyst to create innovation, identify research-based solutions, replicate best practices in the classroom and connect strategic partnerships with public schools. It funds creative outcome-based instructional approaches that are designed to address the opportunity gap and provides resources for teachers impacting the most challenged students.
