The Henrico Education Foundation will celebrate 25 years of service to Henrico County students and teachers by honoring Stewart D. Roberson of Moseley Architects. Roberson will be honored Oct. 10 at the 25th Anniversary Excellence in Education Dinner at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

The fundraising gala will pay tribute to the network of generous philanthropists, business leaders, volunteers, elected officials and media representatives dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Henrico County public school children. The 25th anniversary black-tie event has a $200,000 fundraising goal.

A native of Patrick County, Roberson was a school superintendent for 21 years, one of the longest serving superintendents in Virginia. In August 2011, he was named chairman and president of Moseley Architects.

“It is a true honor to be part of the 25th Anniversary Excellence in Education Dinner and help generate resources for the Henrico Education Foundation,” Roberson said. “The foundation is devoted to lifting up all children and teachers in Henrico County schools, and their results have been remarkable."

Tickets are required to attend the dinner and can be purchased for $175 each at henricogives.org. On Oct. 10, registration for the event will begin at the convention center at 6 p.m.; dinner seating will begin at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will fund innovative classroom grants, extended learning opportunities, scholarships and leadership programs for students and staff in schools across Henrico County. For those unable to attend, the foundation welcomes donations of any size. For details about the event, contact Jay Shively at Henrico Education Foundation at jay@henricogives.org or 652-3870.
