The three locations of Henrico Doctors’ Hospital (Forest, Parham and Retreat) were ranked as the 12th best hospital in Virginia by U.S. News & World Report, which analyzed 122 hospitals in the state and ranked the top 17.

The magazine also awarded “High Performing” ratings for common procedures and conditions to 25 individual hospitals. The designation is the highest rating a hospital can earn from the magazine; Henrico Doctors’ Hospital was named high performing in eight procedures or conditions, while Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital earned the designation in six.

Henrico Doctors’ Hospital earned the High Performing designation in the categories of:

  • Congestive heart failure;
  • Colon cancer surgery;
  • COPD;
  • Diabetes;
  • Heart attack;
  • Kidney failure;
  • Knee replacement;
  • Prostate cancer surgery.

Bon Secours St. Mary's earned the designation in the categories of:

  • Patient experience;
  • Cardiac ICU;
  • Addiction treatment services;
  • Medical surgical ICU;
  • Bariatric/weight control services;
  • Prostate cancer surgery.
