Henrico Doctors’ Hospital names new chief medical officer

HCA Virginia has named Dr. Ajit Singh the new chief medical officer of Henrico Doctors' Hospitals, which comprises the Forest, Parham, and Retreat campuses, effective immediately.
Singh has spent 13 years with HCA Healthcare, most recently serving as the chief medical officer of HCA Virginia’s Johnston-Willis Hospital. During his tenure at Johnston-Willis, he improved physician relations and subsequent physician engagement survey results, according to the company. He also helped decrease hospital-associated infections, all-cause mortality, stroke care, and sepsis management.

Prior to moving to the Richmond region, Singh was the chief medical officer of Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Indiana. While there, he focused on improving quality outcomes, patient safety, and medical staff relations.
He earned a bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery, and a post-graduate degree in dermatology from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Pondicherry, India. He completed a family medicine residency at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, New York. Most recently, he earned a masters of business administration from Indiana University.
He and his wife, Tatsiana, and their three children reside in Henrico.
