Henrico Democrats to host Oct. 6 forum for Democratic school board candidates

The Henrico County Democratic Committee will host a candidate forum Oct. 6 for Henrico School Board candidates from the Fairfield, Varina and Three Chopt districts who identify as Democrats. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 North Laburnum Avenue.
The event is open to the public.
Though all school board candidates in Virginia technically appear on the ballot as independents, many align with one political party or another.
In the Fairfield District, five candidates are seeking the seat: Keith Hicks, Tommie Jefferson, Terrell Pollard, Crystal Parker and Ryan Young.
In the Three Chopt District, three candidates are seeking the seat: Eleina Espigh (who is shown on the Henrico County Republican Committee’s website as its preferred candidate), Madison Irving (for whom the Henrico Democratic Committee is hosting an open house at a private residence Oct. 5) and Kristen Vithoulkas.
In the Varina District, incumbent Alicia Atkins is facing newcomer Domonique Pervall.
