Henrico County employees recently donated more than $25,000 to Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.

Henrico officials formally made the donation of $25,144 to hospital officials. Donations like the county’s helped fund the construction of CHoR’s new Children’s Tower, which recently opened and now will offer emergency, trauma and inpatient care, as well as the region’s only Level 1 trauma center. The space, which takes up a city block, has been designed to provide a unique kind of care in a space crafted specifically for children and their loved ones. It is located alongside the hospital’s existing Children’s Pavilion.

CHoR’s “Benefits That Benefit Children” campaign, in which the county participated, is a cause marketing program through Pierce Insurance and National Benefit Partners that provides donations to Childrens Charities throughout the country. The funds were generated through the Benefits that Benefit Children program in conjunction with voluntary employee benefits provided by Chubb, Legalease, Norton Lifelock, National Benefit Partners and Pierce Insurance.

“When you give back within your community, it is a great way to show that you care and encourage others to follow suit,” said Lonnie Pierce, president of Pierce Insurance.
