Beth Robins, a Science Museum of Virginia volunteer educator from Henrico County, was recently awarded the Director’s Award at SMV's annual volunteer appreciation dinner.

Chief Wonder Officer Rich Conti presented Robins with the award, noting Robins' friendliness with guests and staff alike, her help with special events, and her skills in animal handling. "In fact," said Conti, "you can often see her around the museum with a hissing cockroach!”

Since she started at the Science Museum in October 2013, Robins has accrued approximately 1,300 volunteer hours.
