Henrico Citizen celebrates 20 years with 20 days of giving

The Henrico Citizen turns 20 on Sept. 20, and we want to celebrate with you!
From the publication of our first print edition Sept. 20, 2001 to our fully digital daily weekday coverage today, we’ve worked diligently and tirelessly to bring you the most comprehensive, fair, accurate and informative coverage of Henrico County for two decades.
We’ve been independent and locally owned for our entire existence. We’re a small team of two full-time and three part-time employees doing everything we know how to ensure that when there’s Henrico news that you need to know about, we’re there.
Like many small businesses, COVID-19 has decimated our bottom line. Anticipated advertising revenues dropped by more than 90% in 2020. We’ve rebounded slightly in 2021 but in order to make the Citizen a sustainable news organization, we need your help.
But we’re not just holding our hands out – we’ve compiled a variety of special gifts, giveaways and gift certificates that will be available each of the next 20 days to Citizen supporters who make (in most cases) contributions of at least $20 to support our local journalism efforts.
