Henrico Christmas Mother accepting applications

The Henrico Christmas Mother program will accept applications in person the first four Mondays in October. The program, which provides holiday assistance to qualified Henrico County families with children, seniors and disabled adults, will accept applications at its warehouse, 361 Dabbs House Road in Henrico, on Oct. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Oct. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Oct. 15 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Oct. 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Applications will be accepted for: families with school-age or younger children (school-age children must be enrolled in a Henrico County school or an equivalent GED program); seniors 65 and older; or adults with a documented disability.

Applicants must reside in Henrico County and meet Henrico Christmas Mother income guidelines. Applicants may not apply for assistance from other organizations. When applying, the following forms of documentation will be required: proof of Henrico County residency (current SNAP letter, utility bill or lease with the applicant’s name shown); birth certificates for each child on the application; proof of income (copy of recent pay stub, child support award, Social Security notification for SNAP or TANF); proof of disability for each disabled adult on the application; proof of custody for children other than the applicant’s own (court orders); and Social Security cards for all household members.

A Henrico Christmas Mother representative will review the applications with applicants and verify the documentation.
