Henrico Court Appointed Special Advocates welcome four new advocates to its ranks during a ceremony June 22.

Retired Judge Stuart L. Williams, Jr. of Henrico County’s Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court officially swore in the new CASAs.

Williams congratulated the four on taking the oath, emphasizing that they would be serving not only the children to whom they are assigned but also the judges and entire court process.

CASAs volunteer their time to serve children who are experiencing possible abuse and/or neglect, speaking up for their best interests and working to become sources of stability and support during challenging times in those children’s lives. They are supervised by Henrico CASA staff members.

Since 1994, Henrico CASA has served more than 3,900 children in the Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. The program currently is accepting applications for its next advocate training class, which will begin this fall. Register for an upcoming virtual information session at www.HenricoCASA.org/volunteers.
