There were 56 new cases of COVID-19 reported Friday in Henrico County, according to data from the Virginia Department of Health. The number of new daily cases in the county has continued to hover generally between 65 and 75 for about two weeks and now stands at 65.

After a sudden jump on Wednesday to nine new hospitalizations, Henrico reported one new hospitalization Thursday and three Friday, as well as one new virus-related death Friday, according to VDH data.

Henrico County has reported 198 outbreaks, according to the VDH, with nearly 3,550 associated cases throughout the region, according to the VDH.

In Henrico, PCR testing encounters have yielded an average positivity rate of 6.2 percent as of April 5, according to the VDH. Antigen rapid tests finally have begun to generate a lower average positivity rate of 8.8 percent, after climbing to almost 10 percent last week. Testing data intentionally lags behind a few days to include as much information as possible.

As of April 5, an average of 77,411 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are being administered every day in the state of Virginia, according to VDH data. With more than 4.5 million doses administered thus far, 35 percent of the population has received at least one dose. Vaccine information may take up to 72 hours to be fully reported by the VDH, resulting in a lag of data.

More than 183,000 doses of vaccine have been administered in Henrico County, according to the VDH. More than 122,000 Henricoans have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and almost 70,000 are fully vaccinated.
