Henrico author Jon Sealy will release his latest book, The King Street Affair, June 4. The fictional novel takes readers into a world of spies, Eastern European gangsters, and corrupt government officials in Charleston, South Carolina.

It tells the story of Wyatt Brewer, who has a respectable life as a newspaper reporter in the Holy City. One winter morning, he is assigned to cover the death of a mysterious Estonian who washed up on Folly Beach. When intelligence agents Bert Wilson and Penelope Lowe pick him up for interrogation, Brewer understands he’s stumbled into an underground world of crime and corruption. The agents give him a choice: Help them bring down a mole in their division or fend for himself against Eastern European gangsters and dirty government officials.

The book is described as part southern crime novel, part cat-and-mouse espionage thriller. It’s Sealy’s fourth novel and is available for pre-order at www.jonsealy.com/shop/king-street-affair-signed.

Sealy’s first novel, The Whiskey Baron (published in 2014) is a murder mystery set in a Depression-era South Carolina cotton mill town. His second, The Edge of America, takes readers into the go-go world of 1984 Miami with the fast-paced story of a $3-million heist. His third novel, The Merciful, returns to South Carolina to tell the story of a deadly hit-and-run in a coastal town.
