The Henrico Education Foundation’s third annual Excellence in Education dinner at the Greater Richmond Convention Center Feb. 9 raised $222,623 in unrestricted funds attracted 300 attendees and 36 business sponsors. Meta served as the presenting sponsor of the event, which celebrated those who invest in education.

Through videos and guest speakers, the event highlighted key focus areas of the foundation: early childhood education, out-of-school time, scholarships and innovative grants. Guest speakers included Henrico Schools Superintendent Amy Cashwell, Robins Foundation President and CEO Chris Chin, Meta Community Development Regional Manager Kelley McCall, Michelle McQueen-Williams of Virginia Union University, and Genworth Senior Vice President and Coporate Secretary Michael McCullough.

The Highland Springs High School Jazz Band performed, as did students and staff members from Greenwood Elementary School.

Founded in 1993, the Henrico Education Foundation helps meet the educational needs of Henrico County students while providing partnership opportunities for businesses, community leaders and citizens to directly impact public schools.
