The first of two of public hearings seeking residents’ ideas on Henrico’s community development needs is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, at 6 p.m. at Fairfield Area Library, 1401 North Laburnum Avenue.
Public input will help Henrico develop its “2025-2030 Five Year Consolidated Plan,” which guides the county’s spending priorities for funding received through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The federal funds are used for projects and programs that assist low- and moderate-income neighborhoods, people without housing, economic development and other community development needs.
A second public hearing is planned for Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Libbie Mill Library. Residents and community stakeholders also are encouraged to complete a Community Needs survey by Feb. 10. The survey is available in English and Spanish from Henrico’s Department of Community Revitalization.
