Henrico Police recovered a gun from a bathroom at Longdale Elementary School in Glen Allen Tuesday afternoon. Students at the school spotted the gun and alerted staff members, who contacted the school’s resource officer. Police and school officials are investigating the incident and have not given any indication publicly about who owns the gun, whether it was loaded or who brought it to the bathroom.
“We commend the student(s) for doing the right thing and alerting responsible adults,” police officials Tweeted.
Longdale Elementary is located at 9500 Norfolk Street, nearly adjacent to the Virginia State Police Division One Headquarters at Brook Road and I-295.
