GRASP offers free help with college aid applications

Table of Contents

GRASP, a career and college access organization, is encouraging high school seniors to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as a first step toward their postsecondary education/training goals.

Families needing assistance with the FAFSA or college financial aid can obtain help virtually and free of charge by calling 923-0059 to schedule an appointment with a GRASP advisor.  Appointments are available Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and are offered in both Spanish and English.

Millions of students who are eligible for aid fail to file the FAFSA each year, leaving "money on the table" that could be supporting their postsecondary education, according to the National College Attainment Network. Ninety percent of high school seniors who complete FAFSA attend college directly after high school, compared to just 55% of FAFSA non-completers.
