Goldfish Swim School opens in Gayton Crossing

Table of Contents

Goldfish Swim School Richmond, a water safety and swim lesson school offering swim lessons for infants and children, has opened its 10,000-foot location in Gayton Crossing shopping center, in the site of the former Martin's store. The location joins several others in Virginia and several dozen throughout the United States.

The school provides swim instruction to children ages 4 months to 12 years-old in small class sizes (a maximum 4-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio), 90-degree pools, and a state-of-the-art water purification system. Families with kids of different ages and skill levels can have all of their swimmers in the pool during the same half-hour time slot and schedule makeup classes when necessary. Goldfish offers perpetual lessons and families may enroll at any time.

In addition to swim lessons, Goldfish Swim School offers weekly family swims (for both members and non-members) and party packages. The facility includes an air conditioned viewing gallery for parents to watch lessons, a family dressing area with private changing rooms, snack bar, retail shop and tropical décor.

“We know how important swim and water safety is to families, and the Goldfish Swim School model is the best one out there," co-owner Kim Robinson said. "We are thrilled to bring Goldfish's curriculum, high quality instruction and state of the art facility to the Richmond area.”

Goldfish Swim School Richmond began lessons last month. Families may register for lessons by visiting www.goldfishswimschool.com/richmond-west-end or calling (804) 967-3100.

The location will host a free grand-opening event April 14, featuring a free family swim, facility tours, a balloon artist, photo booth, raffles, arts and crafts and other amenities and activities.

The location also is hiring certified swim instructors, deck supervisors, lifeguards and customer service employees. Call (804) 967-3100 for details.
