Glen Allen native Taylor St. Jacques, a senior member of the Auburn University equestrian team, was named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's Fences Rider of the Year, the organization announced April 27.

St. Jacques finished the 2020-21 season with a 9-0-0 mark in Fences, earning three Most Outstanding Performer honors in the event throughout the year. She reached a season-best 90 in October and averaged an 86.6 during the regular season.

The honor joins a long list of accolades won this year by St. Jacques, who also was named the Southeastern Conference's Fences Rider of the Year and was a first team All-American in the event.

In addition to her success in Fences, she also dominated in Flat competition this year, going undefeated with three MOPs. She also became Auburn's all-time career leaders in Flat competition, with 49. In addition, she was named the SEC Flat Rider of the Year and picked up first team All-America honors.

Auburn, ranked No. 1 nationally entering the eight-team NCEA championship April 15-17, lost in the dual discipline quarterfinals 8-7 to No. 8 seed Baylor, and was eliminated, though St. Jacques earned the point in each of her two events.
