Cole's story, Stolen Sky, was published in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 37.

The awards event at the Taglyan Complex was a black-tie gala honoring all the winners of Volume 36 and Volume 37 as well as announcing the grand prize writer and illustrator winner from each volume.  Due to COVID restrictions, Cole was unable to attend in person. After six years of living and working in contract negotiation in San Francisco, Cole recently moved back home to Virginia in order to pursue his dream of writing full time. This is his first professional fiction sale.

The Writers of the Future Contest was created by L. Ron Hubbard (author of Battlefield Earth) in 1983 to provide opportunities for aspiring writers of speculative fiction.  The contest (writersofthefuture.com) is judged by some of the premier names in speculative fiction, and the award is considered the genre’s most prestigious honor of its kind.
