Ethan Shelton was driving a 2016 Honda Accord southbound on the interstate shortly after noon when he ran off the road to the left at the 40-mile marker and struck an overpass head on, according to Virginia State Police officials.
Shelton, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. Police are investigating the crash.
