Since 2015, Basses That Care, members of The Greater Richmond Chorus of Sweet Adelines International, have been donating clothes, kitchen utensils, food, blankets, gloves, hats, scarves, and more to local charitable organizations, including The Salvation Army and SPCA.

For the last few Februarys they've also turned out in force for the Sedona Taphouse "Dine Out for Charity" event to support the Coal Pit Learning Center, a Glen Allen preschool serving low-income families, and followed it up with a supply drive for the school.

On Aug. 14, with a song in their hearts and bearing gifts of books, toys, art supplies, snacks and paper goods for the school, (left to right) Jan Owen, Sue Hannan (Basses That Care founder), Cheryl Cross and Mary Ann Wilson brought smiles, giggles and glee to the students.  The all-bass harmony quartet led the children in a round of "You Are My Sunshine" and amused them with the antics of Malaga the talking parrot and Bunny the puppet, who gave and received lots of hugs.
