One-year-old Ansel Oliver of Arlington could not contain his exuberance as he cooled off in the water jets on a recent visit to Waterway at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
Formerly known as WaterPlay, the splash pad did not open in 2020 because of COVID-19, and remained closed until this summer. The newly-renovated space is designed with separate areas for toddlers and older children (up to age 10), and has an improved surface to allow for year-round programming related to themes of waterways and watersheds.
Waterway will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily when the weather is 70 degrees or higher; visits are included in regular Garden admission. For details, visit https://www.lewisginter.org.
