One-hundred eighteen people in Henrico now have died from COVID-19, according to the Virginia Department of Health. That number has grown by four since Thursday. The recent deaths included one person in his or her fifties, two in their sixties and one 80 or older.

Overall, the county’s number of confirmed positive cases has grown by 171 since Friday – to 1,546 – among more than 900 new tests reported during that time, though the exact number of tests is not known because the VDH has not yet provided complete updates.

In total, more than 10,000 tests have been conducted among Henrico residents – about 3 percent of the county’s overall population – and nearly 16 percent have been positive.

More than one-third of those positive cases – 552 – are related to the 15 outbreaks in Henrico, 13 of which have occurred in long-term care facilities, according to the VDH.
