Former Varina HS basketball star Nelson selects Richmond over Vanderbilt

Former Varina High School basketball star Jason Nelson, who won a state title with the Blue Devils and then transferred to John Marshall High School in Richmond, where he won another, today announced that he will continue his basketball career at the University of Richmond. He selected the Spiders over Vanderbilt University.

Nelson is a 6-foot point guard and rising senior at John Marshall. He was named the state's Class 2A player of the year this past season.
